Current Listening

soo one of my favorite days is New Music Tuesdays. Or maybe just tuesdays in general. (if you’re a media junkie this is probably your favorite day as well as it always brings a bevy of new music, movies, etc) But anyways, because I know that you’re dying to know/maybe trying to seem interested, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this... here’s ten albums that I’m currently enjoying the poo out of (that’s the technical term of course).

1. Phil Wickham- “Heaven and Earth”

This guy is like the friggin Brandon Jacobs of worship music. He comes at you like lighting, hits you like a train, always knocks you on your butt.

2. David Crowder Band-”Church Music”

Dave and the boys have really done something extraordinarily unique here, and I think it will revolutionize modern worship.

Matt Redman- “We Shall Not Be Shaken”

With his first studio album in over three years, this powerhouse songwriter has not lost his touch. In fact, in my opinion he has added to it with tracks like “This is How We Know”, “We Shall Not Be Shaken”, and “Remembrance”. this album is the best stuff he’s put out since “Blessed be Your Name”

Mutemath-”Armistice”

I’m new on the Mutemath wagon but I’m stoked to be on it now. These guys are more than refreshingly original, and hands down some of the best musicians in the business. Just listen to the drummer, good lord.

Hillsong- “A Cross the Earth/ Tear Down the Walls”

I’ve never been a huge Hillsong fan. Other than “From the Inside Out” and “Mighty to Save” I usually just check out when I hear their stuff. That was until I picked up this record. From start to finish, it’s dynamite. Kaboooosh! (that was for you pops, and Ranger Bear of course)

Owl City- “Ocean Eyes”

I’m not a huge fan of electronic music at all really. But this album is just plain fun to listen to.

Colbie Caillat -”Breakthrough”

This girl can flat out sing. I really don’t need to say more. “Fearless” will rip your heart right out. Sounds cool huh?

David Dunn-”David Dunn-EP”

I have to support my fellow Midlander and friend on this one. Plus as a bonus this EP is fantastic, especially if pop music is your thing. David’s got three things that make a great artist. a lot of talent, potential, and really good songs. It’s only up from here bro.

Thomas and Taylor Turner- “Progress”

if you’re a fan of true indie music and acoustic guitar driven pop/folk, you’ll love these guys. Simple harmony and uniquely intricate guitar style are what these guys are all about. Really good stuff.

Anything by the GLEE Cast

come on, you know you love it too.
